Quality Inspection and Assembly of Drones for an OEM in the Defense Sector

For an OEM in the defense sector, the redi-Group handled the inspection, assembly, and rework of a large number of drones. The key was to integrate the individual tasks into a reliable process while taking into account the varying processing requirements of each drone.

OUR SERVICES

  • •Inspection of drones and components
  • •Assembly, including cable installation
  • •Technical inspection
  • •Rework as needed

THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

Overhaul of a total of 130 drones within eight weeks. The project included the necessary testing, assembly, and rework processes for an OEM in the defense sector.

THE CHALLENGE

When producing a large number of units, all work steps had to be carried out efficiently without compromising the quality of the workmanship.

The task therefore required a reliable process for each individual drone: inspecting components, performing assembly work, installing the necessary cables, and checking the technical condition. Any need for individual rework had to be taken into account.

OUR SOLUTION

The redi-Group coordinated the work through a structured testing and revision process. Each drone was inspected, assembled, fitted with the necessary cables, and subjected to technical checks. Any issues requiring rework were addressed specifically.

The process thus combined standardized steps with individual adjustments. The defined quality requirements served as a common benchmark for the processing of all drones.

The result

130 drones fully overhauled and inspected: The entire agreed-upon scope of the project was completed.

Completed within eight weeks: Inspection, assembly, and necessary rework were carried out within the project timeframe.

Defined quality requirements met: A uniform inspection standard was applied to the entire batch.
